Hermosa Beach is a tiny South Bay city of about one and a half square miles, packed between Manhattan Beach and Redondo. The Strand and the pier anchor the town, Pier Plaza fills up on weekends, and many residents rarely use their cars. Volleyball, surfing and an early-morning run on the sand are part of daily life.
We like Hermosa for buyers who want a lively, walkable beach town with a casual feel. Homes range from Strand-front houses to townhomes a few blocks up the hill. Hermosa is its own city, so Measure ULA doesn't apply, and its small size means every block, and every view, matters.
Who it's for: Buyers who want a social, walkable beach town where the sand is part of daily life, from young professionals to families who like a busy downtown.

Many Hermosa townhomes are two-unit condo buildings that share a roof, walls and sometimes a driveway, often without a professionally managed HOA. Ask for the CC&Rs, any shared-maintenance agreements and the reserves before you remove your contingencies, because a roof or foundation repair may be split with your neighbor.
Read the Buyer's GuideHermosa is its own city, so Measure ULA doesn't apply. That's a real advantage for high-end Strand sellers compared with City of LA beach areas. Ocean views and walk-to-beach distance drive price here, so measure the walk to the sand and show the view from every floor in your marketing.
